Death Cross

A "death cross" is a bearish technical chart pattern signaling the potential for a major sell-off. It occurs when a short-term moving average, usually the 50-day, crosses below a long-term moving average, such as the 200-day moving average. This crossover pattern indicates a downward trend and can trigger selling in anticipation of further price drops. In the crypto market, a death cross is often seen as a warning sign of an impending bear market, but it should be considered alongside other indicators as it’s not always accurate.
